Gift Card Sellers

Our parish sells “gift cards” from over 700 retail business across the U.S. For each card sold, the vendors have agreed to give a percentage back to St. Gabriel’s (the percentages vary from 2% to 25%--each vendor set their own amount). We feel the gift card program might offer the greatest potential we have, as it generates funds with “zero” additional cost to the purchaser.

Gift cards are sold after each weekend Mass at the office window just inside the Church entrance. Normally, two people are assigned to a Mass (of your choosing). As people leave Church after Mass, many will stop to purchase gift cards. You would be trained to handle the transaction (cash, check and/or credit card). All you need is a general ability to keep track of cards sold (a “log” form is provided), and reconcile what was sold against funds received is really all that is required. If you can balance your checkbook, you should have little difficulty handling this.

Gift card sellers open up the window after each weekend Mass. The window stays open as long as there are customers wanting to make a purchase (usually about 10 to 15 minutes after Mass). Our Christmas season tends to be the busiest time. For several weeks before Christmas, we open the gift card window for about 15 minutes before Mass, too.
